The Phil-Tone Custom Link begins as a stock Link. The chamber has been altered to reduce stuffiness and to blow freely. The table has been flattened and a facing carefully applied. A low rollover baffle is also added. Additionally, a small amount of filler has been added to the floor of the piece to correct for the deep impression behind the baffle which leads modern Tone Edges to sound dull and tubby. This facilitates projection, and provides an even resonance though the range of the horn. The Phil-Tone Custom link presents a tonal palate very similar to an original slant.
The final result is a mouthpiece that has a classic sound with impressive depth, strong highs, and excellent response throughout the range of the horn. With its rich and colorful palate the Phil-Tone Custom Link fills a space like no other.
