TENOR

Berg Larsen 1 Vintage Offset M Stainless(.101): This Berg is fun to play. Its bright but still has a fantastic core. Its not a paint peeler with reeds such as Java but could be with a different combination. Great condition, versatile, and reed friend!

The piece has been cleaned up for a better seal and the rails have been evened.  This is an excellent price for a vintage Berg of this era. Vintage value aside consider that modern Bergs dont touch how this piece plays. Quality control is lacking and no one wants to reface Stainless.  Get this vintage Berg for no more than the cost of a modern Berg and a reface.

$325.00

Berg Larsen Tenor (.115 2 sms):  The table and facing will be cleaned up and corrected for the buyer.  It is in good clean condition.

$239.00

Berg Larsen Tenor (.108 1 M):  This piece is somewhere between the brightness of a 1 and 2 Berg.  It has been refaced and corrected.  The response is great and it is just good clean fun to play.

$239.00

Vintage Brilhart Tonalin Great Neck Tenor (.100) : This piece  is excellent.  I am told that it was refaced by Bob Carpenter but it is not signed.  I have checked the work and it is immaculate.  The piece plays big thick and even through the entire range.  It is a large font Great Neck. The bite plate is very clean. The piece has been very well banded to protect it.  This is about as good as it gets for Brilhart lovers.

$300.00

Vintage Brilhart Tonalin Tenor (.103) : This is a great player. It has been opened to a .100. It is in amazing condition for its age. The branding is a little faded and the condition is excellent. Through the focused range is an amazingly rich core. Its really very special in the way the mids carry through the entire range.  It is really out of the ordinary to find a piece that will open this far without changing table angles or creating a tip that is like a razor. The bite plate is in good condition and no chips or cracks. Simply put there are no blanks or other pieces out there that yield this particular color palate.

$295.00

Vintage Brilhart Ebolin (.090) : This piece is a great vintage piece opened to a .090 (Link 6). When refaced and balanced these are great players. The are free blowing, and really have a lot of depth and energy to them. This is a lot of bang for your mouthpiece dollar.

159.00

Brilhart Ebolin Custom :  This piece is a great candidate for a reface. This is not your daddys Ebolin. It modern tip openings these pieces roar with great focus and versatility.

Claude Lakey Brass Tenor (7*):   Lets start with the fact that this is nothing like any other Lakey.  Firstly, it is made very well.  Second, it is not harsh.  It is powerful and has a great core.  Its a nice all around piece for Jazz or Fusion.  Excellent condition with only a little plating wear on the table.

$195.00

Vintage Gale Companion Tenor (.090):   This piece is really unusual to come across.  They are Gregory pieces which were later made by Gale.  The Companion shares the same chamber as the early Hollywood but is reported to have a bit more baffle.  This piece has a fantastic vintage tone.  It is thick with a ton of core but enough kick to keep things really interesting.

$349.00

Vintage King Mouthpiece. Originally shipped with The Super 20: (.105):  This piece is fun to play. It has some cut but with a nice thick focused core. It is a slim hard rubber piece that is comfortable in the mouth. This would be great for a King fan or anyone looking for a really nice versatile hand faced piece at a great price.

$159.00

Lebayle Jazz Tenor (6) HR:  This piece is in excellent condition and has the original facing.  It plays strong with some edge but remains a very versatile piece.

$140.00

Lebayle Wood LR Tenor (.112):  This piece is a great player with an orignial facing. I have had the piece for some time and the wood has remained stable. Its a big sounding piece with good focus and can take a lot of air.

$200.00

Otto Link Super Tone Master and NY Links: in stock in several tip sizes.  These are waiting to be opened and properly adjusted to your needs.  A refaced modern Link can stand up with the best of them.

$239.00

Phil Barone Jazz (6*):  This is one of Phil’s metal pieces.  It is original and in good condition with only minimal plating wear.  It shows some tooling work inside the chamber but this is not unusual land does not impact the way the piece plays.  The piece plays with a dark, thick, husky tone.  A different take on a link like sound with plenty of power.  These are $375 new.

$225.00

Runyon Custom Tenor (.105):  Clear blue model with ligature and spoiler.  Refaced and corrected this piece blows big and clear.  With the included spoiler the piece picks up some added versatility.

$400.00

Selmer Soloist Short Shank Tenor:  This piece is a great vintage piece that will be opened to the tip size of your choice. I would advise a maximum of .095 (Link 6*). These are great players and if you want extra baffle it can be added as the piece is refaced.

$369.00

Selmer Soloist Long Shank Tenor   This piece is a beautiful very clean vintage piece that can be opened to an “E” or smaller. It is cosmetically amazing for its age and a great player for that warm, thick soloist tone in a very playable tip opening.

$239.00

Older Claude Lakey Tenor (.105):  This piece has been completely rebuilt. The table is flat and the facing and tip are corrected. If your looking for something to cut through those electric guitars with a lot of punch this piece will do it. This is a number 2 Jazz chamber.

$119.00

Steve Broadus Tenor:  These come in and out of stock. These are amazing players. They are dark and rich in a way reminiscent to links but with a different presentation. Resonant with a deep big core.  Will quote price based on work needed. As a general guide expect:

$300.00

ALTO

Vintage Berg Larsen Alto HR 2 Offset SMS Denim Table (.080)  This piece is marked to be a .090 but like most Bergs the size is off.  It measures out to be a very comfortable .080.  The piece is original with thin rails and tip rail.  The pieces has power and is responsive.  It is a great all around example of a vintage berg.

$289.00

Berg Larsen Alto:  This is a 2 chamber.  It will be refaced to the opening of your choice. The piece is in excellent condition.

$210.00

Berg Larsen Alto (.080):  This is a 1 chamber.  It plays bright but full.  It has been refaced and tonally balanced.  Excellent Condition and only a little more than a factory piece.

$210.00

Berg Larsen Alto HR 1 M SMS (.085):  This is marked a 100 but its not. After flattening the table I cleaned up the facing and it measures a nice .085. Its great hard rubber and a great piece if you want a classic Berg on Alto.  The piece is bright but not brittle. You will definitely not get lost in the crowd with this one. This piece blows big and easy.

$220.00

Brilhart Hard Rubber Alto (.075):  This amazing vintage piece has had the facing cleaned up. It simply could no be avoided. Sometimes vintage facings are not always the best. The original facing played stuffy and dead. A quick measure of the facing made the reason for that clear. After correcting the piece it sings and has a big fat tone that makes you wonder if you are playing tenor. It is in excellent condition for its age with mild oxidation. The hard rubber used in these pieces is some of the best ever formulated.

$315.00

Brilhart Tonalin Alto (.078):  This is a vintage piece but not numbered.  It is in excellent condition with only some lig marks.  No cracks or spits.  It is what a Brilhart should be.

$210.00

Brilhart Ebolin Alto:  This piece will be made to order. You will never know you could have so much fun with a mouthpiece at this price point. It has great dynamics, a fantastic core and a low end that just wont quit.

$169.00

Vintage Dick Stabile Alto:  This has been opened to a .072 (about a Meyer 5 tip). It has straight sidewalls and a medium large chamber. The piece blows great with a large round tone that remains focused and warm.

$169.00

Morgan Excalibur EL Alto (7):  This is from the Ralph Morgan years.  It is in excellent condition.  There is a little oxidation but not much.  No gouges and the facing is perfect. This piece plays loud and clear and is very free blowing.

$200.00

Otto Link Super Tone Master Alto (5*):  This pieces comes with a lig and cap.  It is in good condition with some fairly typical plaing wear.  It does not look like new but there is nothing objectionable about the piece.  The facing will, of course, be new and is included in the price.

$205.00

Vintage Short Shank Soloist Alto: This piece is in great condition and can be opened to a .070, .075, or a .080. Get a classic vintage tone with a modern tip opening and precision facing.

$350.00

Vintage Soloist Scroll Shank Alto (Most tip sizes):  These have a Soloist horseshoe chamber and added baffle. When needed the horseshoe is slightly opened. This makes the piece more freeblowing and resonant like their Soloist brother for a fraction of the cost. I typically have several of these on hand. Fill out the contact form regarding stock and desired tip opening. These are an incredible bargain considering the price of a moder Soloist or an S-80. Those pieces dont compare. They are machine made as well.

$185.00

Steve Broadus Alto:  These come in and out of stock. Like their tenor big brothers these pieces really open up the range of the horn. They are dark and vibrant with enough baffle to keep the highs interesting but thick. A great addition to a mouthpiece arsenal.  Will quote price based on work needed. Estimated price: $189.00

Vintage Sumner Meyer Clone (.071 Meyer 5):  These pieces are made from great hard rubber. They are like a Meyer but have a little less of a spread sound. The increased focus is from sidewalls that are not cut as deeply as modern Meyer pieces. If your looking for a great Meyer tone with good focus and projection this is the way to go. You will look long and hard for a hand faced piece of this quality material at this price. I have several of these. I picked up the older pieces at a good price and I am passing the deal on.
